We arrived in Nanning late last night. It was another long day for us. We left our hotel in Hong Kong at 1:15 and arrived at our hotel around 9:45pm. Tai did awesome yesterday considering it was a long wait at the airport. We got to the hotel and were extremely frustrated b/c our hotel is awful. We are very upset and disappointed with our agency right now. The hotel is supposedly a 5 star hotel but it is dark, and dingy, and dirty. But we will make it work and are thankful that we have a Suite. The extra space is very nice to have. The bed is just like our last trip - a brick with a sheet on top! So jason and I piled on the down comforter and the spare comforter and slept on top of that. It is slightly better. We ordered a blow up bed for Tai to sleep on while here and to be honest we felt bad for him to sleep on a blow up bed for 2 weeks - but now jason and I are oh so jealous of him! We actually are not upset about the bed, that is just part of China. It is the rest of the hotel.
It is raining here and that is such a welcome sight to us right now! After breakfast, the 3 of us ventured out to find the grocery store. We actually played "frogger' with Tai and we made it safely across the street twice!!! We would never have done that last time! The traffic here is crazy and I can not even describe how crazy it was. We walked to the grocery store and back in the pouring rain (yes, we had umbrellas) but it felt so good compared to the awful heat at home. We are loaded with a few groceries and have internet access and so we are feeling much better now. We bought a 6 pack of Tsingtao beer for $4.00!!!!
Alice is coming to our room in about 45 minutes!!!!! We are all very excited and anxious to meet her! Thank you so much to everyone that has taken the time to send us messages and emails. I apologize that we can not anwer everyone back, we just don't have time and the internet is very slow. We love getting them and they really make us happy!!! So keep em coming folks and let us know if you are following along. Our next post we will be a family of 4 and we will have our sweet girl in our arms!
